Davey Lighting began in the shipyards of nineteenth-century London; Original BTC took it on in 2010 to keep it making by hand in England, using techniques some of which date back to London’s East India Docks in the 1880s.

Why You’ll Love It

It brings real weight and character to a kitchen, porch or loft. These are working lights with a past: honest materials, real ratings for weather, and finishes that look better with age.

Made for Real Life

It is hardwired by an electrician, and its rating means a covered porch is as good a home as the kitchen. Wipe it down with a soft cloth and skip the metal polish: weathered, raw and galvanised finishes are meant to look lived-in. Near the sea, rinse off salt now and then with fresh water.

Product Details

Product

Shipyard Pendant

Maker

Original BTC, Oxfordshire, England

Light type

Pendant light

Made from

Glass, galvanised steel (clear glass)

Finish choices

Clear, Frosted, Galvanised Clear, Galvanised Frosted

Size

Ø 30 × H 34 cm (Ø 11.8" × H 13.4")

Hanging drop

17.7" to 72.8" (45 to 185 cm)

Weight

3 kg (6.6 lb)

Bulb / light

E26 socket, max 60W

Dims

Yes

Voltage

120V AC

Where it can go

IP44; suitable for outdoor, indoor

Country of origin

United Kingdom

Original BTC item no.

Clear = BT-DP7222/CO/CL; Frosted = BT-DP7222/CO/FR; Galvanised Clear = BT-DP7222/GA/CL; Galvanised Frosted = BT-DP7222/GA/FR

Where It Shines

It looks at home under a porch roof, over a kitchen island or in a steamy bathroom.

Questions We Hear Most

What sets the Shipyard Pendant apart?

Three things: cast brass with heavy gunmetal crown; copper or galvanised reflector; wire guard over clear or frosted well glass.

What are the Shipyard Pendant’s measurements?

Ø 11.8" × H 13.4" (Ø 30 × H 34 cm).
