It stands 5.6 inches tall and 3.6 inches across, charges over USB-C and has a touch dimmer for three light levels.

The cap comes in Hand-Rubbed Antique Brass, Bronze or Polished Nickel. It is the most compact of the alabaster Caspe lamps, small enough for a shelf, a nightstand or a tray.

The Design Story

Designer Sean Lavin. Photo from Visual Comfort.

Sean Lavin designs lighting by working with light, form and material, drawing on art, architecture, travel and technology. In the alabaster versions of Caspe he trades the clear crystal for stone and keeps the same pared-back idea: one natural material and one hand-finished metal band. At this size the lamp reads as a small piece of carved stone, pale and cloudy with veins of cream and caramel, until the light comes on and the whole body glows from within.

Why You'll Love It

Alabaster is translucent, so Caspe Alabaster 6 changes character through the day: a quiet stone object in daylight, a soft lantern after dark. With no cord to route, it can sit on a bookshelf, a nightstand or a windowsill, and it moves easily from room to room. It can be stood either way up, with the cap on top or at the base. The integrated LED is warm at 2700K with 90 CRI and delivers 123 lumens, a little brighter than the crystal Caspe 6 and still an ambient glow rather than a reading light. A touch on the lamp steps through the brightness settings.

Built to Be Handled

The lamp is made of brass and alabaster and weighs 5 lbs, which gives a small object a reassuring heft. Because alabaster is a natural stone, the veining, color and cloudiness differ from piece to piece, and the one you receive will not match the photographs exactly. It is ETL listed and rated for indoor, dry locations only. Visual Comfort backs it with a one-year warranty.

Product Details

Designer

Sean Lavin

Brand / collection

Visual Comfort, Modern Collection, Caspe series

Finishes

Hand-Rubbed Antique Brass, Bronze, Polished Nickel

Dimensions

Width 3.6 in, depth 3.6 in, height 5.6 in

Weight

5 lbs

Material

Brass and alabaster

Light source

Integrated dedicated LED module, 1 light

Color temperature / CRI

2700K warm white, 90 CRI

Output

123 delivered lumens (Visual Comfort spec sheet)

Wattage

7.5 W maximum, 2.4 W on high, 0.6 W on low

Dimming

Integrated 3-step touch dimmer

Battery

Rechargeable lithium battery (3.8V, 7000 mAh), not replaceable; about 5 hours to fully charge

Charging

USB-C, 72 in cord supplied

LED life

50,000 hours (L70)

Rating

ETL listed, indoor use, dry location

Warranty

1 year

Item numbers

SLTB66927HABALB (Hand-Rubbed Antique Brass), SLTB66927BZALB (Bronze), SLTB66927PNALB (Polished Nickel)

Dimensions diagram, drawn from the Visual Comfort spec sheet.

Where It Shines

On a bookshelf, a nightstand, a windowsill or a small table, or anywhere indoors you want a compact, soft glow without running a cord.
