It stands 7.6 inches tall and 5 inches across at its widest, charges over USB-C and has a touch dimmer for three light levels.

The cap comes in Hand-Rubbed Antique Brass, Bronze or Polished Nickel. It is the taller, broader step up from Caspe 7, with more crystal to glow.

The Design Story

Designer Sean Lavin. Photo from Visual Comfort.

Sean Lavin designs lighting by working with light, form and material, drawing on art, architecture, travel and technology. In the Caspe family he sets clear crystal against hand-finished metal and lets the two materials play off each other. Caspe 8 adds a taper: the crystal narrows toward the cap and widens at the base, so it reads as a small sculpture until the light comes on and the whole body fills with a warm glow.

Why You'll Love It

With no cord to route, Caspe 8 fits a console, a bedside table, a bookshelf or the middle of a dining table. The conical shape gives it more presence than a simple cylinder, and it can be stood either way up for a different look. The integrated LED is warm at 2700K with 90 CRI and delivers 87 lumens, an ambient glow for atmosphere rather than for reading. A touch on the lamp steps through the brightness settings.

Built to Be Handled

The lamp is made of brass and crystal and weighs 9 lbs, so it sits firmly where you put it. It is ETL listed and rated for indoor, dry locations only. Visual Comfort backs it with a one-year warranty. As with any crystal object, handle it with care.

Product Details

Designer

Sean Lavin

Brand / collection

Visual Comfort, Modern Collection, Caspe series

Finishes

Hand-Rubbed Antique Brass, Bronze, Polished Nickel

Dimensions

Width 5 in, depth 5 in, height 7.6 in

Weight

9 lbs

Material

Brass and crystal

Light source

Integrated dedicated LED module, 1 light

Color temperature / CRI

2700K warm white, 90 CRI

Output

87 delivered lumens (Visual Comfort spec sheet)

Wattage

8.8 W maximum, 2.4 W on high, 0.6 W on low

Dimming

Integrated 3-step touch dimmer

Battery

Rechargeable lithium battery (3.8V, 7000 mAh), not replaceable; about 5 hours to fully charge

Charging

USB-C, 72 in cord supplied

Rating

ETL listed, indoor use, dry location

Warranty

1 year

Item numbers

SLTB66627HABCG (Hand-Rubbed Antique Brass), SLTB66627BZCG (Bronze), SLTB66627PNCG (Polished Nickel)

Dimensions diagram, drawn from the Visual Comfort spec sheet.

Where It Shines

On a console, a bedside table, a bookshelf, a desk or a dining table, or anywhere indoors you want a movable pool of warm light without running a cord.

Who This Is Not For

Caspe 8 is an accent light.
