Every bone china piece is cast in Original BTC’s own Stoke-on-Trent factory, a multi-day process of pouring, drying, hand finishing and firing that gives the material its glow.

Why You’ll Love It

It brings a library calm to a desk, with china glowing over brass. Bone china is the signature of Original BTC: founder Peter Bowles was the first designer to use it for lighting, and it turns a lamp into a soft, translucent source of light.

Made for Real Life

Plug it in at the desk and it is ready. Switch it off, then dust it with a soft cloth or wipe with plain water and dry it well. Treat the shade like fine china, because it is.

Product Details

Product

Banker’s Desk Light

Maker

Original BTC, Oxfordshire, England

Light type

Desk lamp

Made from

Brass, bone China

Size

W 33 × H 41 × D 19 cm (W 12.8" × H 16.1" × D 7.3")

Weight

4.3 kg (9.5 lb)

Bulb / light

Integrated LED (per Original BTC’s specification)

Dims

No

Voltage

120V AC

Where it can go

IP20; suitable for indoor

Country of origin

United Kingdom

Original BTC item no.

BT-FT700/BR

Where It Shines

It looks at home on a writing desk, in a home office or in a library corner.

Questions We Hear Most

What sets the Banker’s Desk Light apart?

Three things: handmade bone china shade; precision-machined satin brass; a modern take on the classic banker’s lamp.

What are the Banker’s Desk Light’s measurements?

W 12.8" × H 16.1" × D 7.3" (W 33 × H 41 × D 19 cm).
